We always enjoy meeting Patty Young and her husband, Jon, at Quilt Market. You could say that the whole family is involved in Patty’s success — Jon helps Patty set up her booth at Quilt Market, and their two daughters model the outfits in her Modkid patterns. Patty’s passion for what she does is evident when you speak with her and is also apparent, along with her love of travel, in her fabric and pattern designs.
Andalucia, her debut fabric collection, was inspired by the honeymoon trip Patty and Jon took to the South of Spain. The passionate pinks, reds, and earth tones add drama and warmth to any sewing project, while her lighter pink and white prints evoke a youthful playfulness and innocence.
Mezzanine, Patty’s second fabric line, was influenced by the fabulous stonework, ironwork, terraces, gardens, and tapestries that Patty discovered at the many historic sites she visited during a trip through Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.
