Fabric designer Patty Sloniger grew up in a creative family and has been drawing since she was very young. After graduating from college with a degree in Graphic Design, Patty spent several years illustrating and designing for a stationary and gifts manufacturer. During this time she set a goal to become a licensed illustrator. Then came Project Selvage, a competition sponsored by Michael Miller Fabrics and Spoonflower to design a collection of boy fabrics for babies.
Patty submitted her fabric designs and was chosen as one of the semi–finalists, and then as the Project Selvage winner. A dream come true — to see her name on the selvage of fabrics printed by a major manufacturer.
Patty draws inspiration from many sources including travel, nature, photographs, and her childhood. Her favorite art medium is a pencil and paper, but she enjoys creating in many different ways from artwork to sewing to furniture. What are a few of her favorite things? Sewing in her slippers, ironing freshly washed fabric (not to be confused with laundry), watching old movies and musicals, and breakfast at any time of day.
